My Writing Coach is partnering with Dr. Zenovia Crier and the LBJ Knights for a year of acceleration in writing! The comprehensive approach includes support for teachers and students as they use technology in innovative ways to develop as writers. This is a hybrid paper/pencil-computer experience that emerging writers need to be successful.
My Writing Coach LIVE!
My Writing Coach LIVE! is a model of instruction that includes three participants: a writing teacher, a classroom teacher, and a class of students. The classroom teacher facilitates the lesson in-person while the writing teacher delivers expert instruction via a scheduled weekly Zoom.
Our approach allows for the best of both professional development without teachers leaving the classroom and expert initial direct instruction for students.
Language Arts Curriculum Integration
My Writing Coach focuses on reading comprehension-based writing in the areas of main idea, inference, and theme. The writing process is also utilized to create full compositions in narrative, informative, and opinion/argument writing. Into Reading's scope and sequence and module topics are aligned to the writing lessons presented in My Writing Coach LIVE!
STAAR Test Preparedness
My Writing Coach knows being acknowledged as a high performing school means that the students who attend there are ready for the next stage of their education.

LBJ is excited that it has gone from an F to a C in a year and a half! Results for this year are pending, but things are looking up! Next stop: A!
The My Writing Coach online support system has more than 500 reading comprehension-based writing tasks and full performance tasks that are accessible for teachers to use for on-going instruction, differentiation, and practice.
